How To Order

This Catalogue contains specially designed or adapted items for the Blind or Vision Impaired Person’s use. The sighted public are also able to purchase from our Catalogue.

User Features

To make this store more flexible we have implemented two features. Firstly, for the vision impaired, the font size can be set to a larger size. Secondly, the number of products listed horizontally across each section page can be set to 1, 2 or 3. We hope this assists you in browsing our product catalogue.

Selecting a Product

Select the category you are interested in from the left column. Some categories are divided into sub-categories for your convenience. These will be listed under the main category title when you click on it. You can then select a sub-category and all of its products will be listed to the right of the section menu.

On the section page, each product is listed with a photo (where available), the name and code of the product, a short description and it’s price. If a product is on Special, both the usual and special prices will be listed.

An order button is available for each product.

More detailed product information, including a larger photo, are available if you click on the small photo or the product name or the link saying ’click for more information’.

On the single product item page, the larger photo, product name, price and more detailed information are listed. An order button is also present on this screen.

To order, find your desired product and click the order (or Buy Now) button. This will add the item to your shopping cart. Once an item is added, you can adjust the quantity if so desired, or you can return to the store to select more products, or you can check out.

During the checkout process you will need to enter name, address and payment details. If you select credit card you will enter into the secure (encrypted) mode of the cart. Your card details will be captured under encryption. An order confirmation email will be sent to you, as well as to the QBA. No credit card details are sent in emails. Your details can then only be retrieved by QBA staff from the secure administration area of the cart software, where they have to sign in with confidential userids and passwords.

Postage and handling (Australia only)

We endeavour at all times to keep postage and handling rates to a minimum. All parcels over $50 are registered.

The Queensland Blind Association cannot guarantee that every item in this edition will be available for the full lifetime of this Catalogue.

Many items sold by us are imported – Thus currency fluctuation means when new stock is purchased there is often a substantial price increase.

White Canes are only available to Legally Blind Persons

The Queensland Blind Association Inc. sells White Canes to Legally Blind persons only at the listed price. If you are not a member, proof of legal blindness must be presented (e.g. your DSP Blind or Aged Blind Concession Card) to purchase a White Cane. Canes are sold only as a "Symbol of Blindness".

Incorrect use may be a danger to the user and other pedestrians. We highly recommend that persons receive measurement and training from professional trainers, as correct length and style are a must.

To our Members we offer:

Your first ID Symbol Cane free. A discount of 50% is given for one white cane per year, per member. Any further cane purchases will be discounted by 20%. A 20% Discount is also available to Financial Members for all other items, except on sale items.

Warranties

Manufacturer’s warranties will be honoured by Queensland Blind Association Inc. We will assist the customer in returning defective merchandise to the manufacturer for replacement and/or repair.

Queensland Blind Association Inc. offers no warranty other than that supplied by the manufacturer.

Returns

We will accept return of items within 14 days of purchase. To be eligible for a refund or credit the instructions below must be followed: -

Please supply proof of purchase, receipt or invoice. Include manufacturers box, instructions and other documents that came with the item. The returned item does not show any signs of wear and tear. If returning an item by mail ensure that it is safely packaged, and that the postage and insurance are paid.

Sales items are non returnable.
